Hello,

Cricket and I are at the beach, dodging what is left of the storm named Dennis.  We haven't gotten into the surf yet, the weather hasn't permitted that. Yesterday we did some shopping, and today we visited the Virgina Marine Science Museum. There is an Imax theartre at the museum where we watched "T-Rex" in 3D. I didn't bring the digital camera to the museum, so I don't have pictures to share of that. Although the museum was quite dark, I took a roll of 1000ASA at f1.8 on the Canon SLR, so I might have some good prints of their aquariums this year.

Today I went out and flew my shark kite. Here's me with the kite:

and here I am flying it. This picture was taken from our 10th floor room:

After dinner, we hunted down two of the web cameras that are pointed at the beach.  The first is at 14th street, attached to the "Breakers" hotel.  The URL for this camera is http://www.bank-of-tidewater.com/botcam/beach.html

The second camera is at 7'th street. The URL for this camera is http://www.gohamptonroads.com/sponsors/mahimahs/index.html

There is a third camera on 24th street: http://www.gohamptonroads.com/sponsors/ocgs/ocgscam.html, but we didn't walk down the boardwalk that far today. It is best to visit these cameras while the sun is still shining on the east coast.

One more thing - today is my 40th birthday.  Cricket got me a pair of really cute kitties, Beanies, Silver and Amber:

That's the show for today.  I hope to get some beach pictures sent before the end of our trip.
