Second Postcard from Virginia Beach

Here's our second web postcard, this one chronicles a typical day here.

We start, if we bother to wake up early enough, with sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean, this is the view from our deck:

Then we order breakfast as room service. Here we are enjoying eggs, bacon, sausage, and orange juice:

Then we wander down to the beach. This is the view up the boardwalk outside the hotel. The QuickCam is designed for indoor use, and can't deal well with the high brightness level of sunlight at the beach. To take these pictures I equipped the camera with two layers of polarized sunglasses:

Here's the view down the beach. You can just barely make out Cricket sitting under our umbrella:

Here we are relaxing under the umbrella. I don't usually take the Powerbook to the beach - this picture is an exception because I needed the computer to drive the QuickCam:

Here's a close-up of the waves. We spent a lot of time riding the waves on floats, as the man in this picture has just finished doing:

Here's a few more people enjoying the waves:

Here's the hotel as viewed from the beach. I've circled our balcony:

Here's a lifeguard tower, with our hotel in the background.

That's it so far, I hope you are enjoyng our vacation!
