Jeffrey Lomicka's Technology Page
Here you will find some programs to download and information that might be useful. Jeff works mostly with the Apple Macintosh, and used to do a lot with the Atari ST.
Last update was April 14, 2001, to add lots of stuff I've had lying around for a while but haven't shared. Not everything is fully uploaded yet, but if you read this and want something, send me mail, and I'll get it to you.
denote
Lotus Notes to Eudora Email converter
"Denote" is a small Macintosh application that can be used to help convert your Lotus Notes Email into Eudora mailboxes, where I have found archiving, searching, and long term Email management to be much easier. Get it here.
eudorify
HP OpenMail to Eudora Email converter
"Eudorify" is a small Macintosh application that can be used to help convert your HP OpenMail Email into Eudora mailboxes, where I have found archiving, searching, and long term Email management to be much easier. Get it here.
navify
Eudora Email to Web Page converter
"Navify" is a small Macintosh application that can be used to convert your Eudora mailboxes in a web page format, suitable for giving public access to an Email archive. Get it here.
Jeff's X10 MR26A Pages
Macaintosh Serial Cable and other X10 MR26A information
Connecting the X10 MR26A to the Macintosh requires some special circuitry not normally found in PC to Mac serial cables. This page has all the details needed to make a reliable Macintosh connection to your MR26A. This is for use with XTension. Get it here.
PowerBook Tips and Tricks
Jeff submitted two ideas to the Macworld "Tips and Tricks" column.
- Using velcro to control dangling PowerBook adaptors, a means to provide strain releif for localtalk adaptors, PC card modems, and Ethernet tranceivers.
- Silencing a PowerBook using a 1/8 inch x 5/8 inch flat head nylon screw. MacWorld accepted the Silencing a PowerBook suggestion. Go There!
- Most PowerBook 100-series internal modems don't work very well, and I have instructions on how to fix it, assuming you have a steady hand and can cut tiny etch and solder tiny jumpers. The basic gist of the problem is that internal modems are connected with the equivalent of "low speed" modem cables instead of the required "high speed" modem cabels. If you really want to know more, send me mail (in the years I've had this page here, nobody has asked about this).
Avid AVX Timecode Plugin
Burn In Timecode in your Avid video editor This plug-in draws sequence timecode into the video.
Atari ST Backup Utility
Back when Jeff was hacking on the Atari ST, he wrote utilities for the Atari under the name "Tidbit Software". The only product is GOOD Backup Utility for Atari ST, now available as shareware.
