- In Lotus Notes, select the messages which will make up your Eudora folder. I typically take one month at a time. Go through the list and detach any attachments that you wish to archive, because this process does nothing to preserve them for you.
- From the FILE menu, choose EXPORT...
- Make sure "File Type:" is "Structured Text", enter a file name and press "Save", you will get a "Structured Text Export" dialog.
- In the "Structured Text Export" dialog, choose "selected documents", and make sure the Inter-document delimiter is "12", or "Form-feed" (they are the same). Wrap words is optional and is at your own discretion. Eudora will wrap for you, so 5000 might be a good answer here.
- "Ok" the export. After it is done, you can delete the selected messages if you no longer want them in Notes.
- Exit NOTES and launch "denote"
- Feed it the structured text export document
- Find the ".em" file created by "denote" in the same folder as the structured text export document, and move it into your Eudora folder's "Mail Folder".
- Launch Eudora, and see your exported mail.
This process, and the "denote" program, developed by Jeffrey Lomicka.
