My Grandfather Allard is smiling down from where he is, because his beloved Red Sox have finally won the World Series. Congratulations, Sawx!

Red Sox, from down 3-0 in the ALCS to winners of the World Series, was an awesome sight to see, what made it all the better was at the end of the final game, a sign saying "HAVERHILL, WE BELIEVE" was shown before the commercial interuption, was thrilled to see that... Wonder who was holding the sign, wasn't me...

Hi Folks. I visited your site back in 2000 and it is hard to believe that nearly 5 years have gone by. Lots of changes no doubt. I would love to hear from anyone doing family geneology research and would like to share what they have found, pictures and so on. I look forward to hearing from folks. I have an old friend from the Navy (56-58)from Haverhill. After about 40yrs. I got in touch on the phone with him. We haven't been able to get our times right for a visit. I was at Quonset Point when I visited Ralph Cusano and his Mom and Dad in Dec. 1958. I will probably call him soon. I liked the Lions sign. I am a Past District Governor in my District, as is my wife. (District 22-B). You have a beautiful city. Thank you. Bill Culver

but it's so hard now adays to walk down the street, or to lay in a field or under a tree, there are houses and business being built EVERYWHERE! It's sad, I live in the ayers village area and I have only lived in this area since 1991 and so much has changed in that short time, even up here you see your neighbors kitchen out your back door, it's just too much, losing so much beauty and peace we once had. I can't complain too much, I've lived a few places in the past few years, from Attleboro, MA to fayetteville, NC, and I always come back! Born here will die here!

I was born in Haverhill. Although we moved away when I was one, we spent every summer there. I have always loved it.

I grew up in South Groveland. My Villeneuve Grandparents lived on Central St., Bradford. My freshman year of High School was at the OLD Haverhill High. After that, from my sophmore year until graduation in 1961, I attended Pentucket (Jr./Senior at that time)High in West Newbury. Looking through the photo collection gave me a bad case of nostalgia. Thanks for the memories. Question: Is ther any way to access old census records, vital statistics, etc., for Haverhill AND Groveland, on-line? If so, please reply. I really know very little about my family history, and would like to do some research. Thank You, Kathy Villeneuve

Well, they say you'll more than likely& eventually go back to where you were born. I was born here in Haverhill, (Nov 1931) grew up and went to school (s) here. In 1948 I got an itch to see the world and joined the Army. I grew up fast because Korea came into the picture in 1950; I learned things about survival fast. I spent 13 1/2 years in the service and came home to settle down with my lovely wife and family. We lived here until she passed away in 1985 then I moved to NH where I stayed for 17 years then my kids thought I ought to come back home where they could keep an eye on me. Kennedy circle is where I reside now and it has been a joy to go over to the Dunkin' Donuts in Riverside where you'll eventually see an old face or two every now and then. I feel good about coming home; and encourage those who miss Haverhill to pay a visit sometime, you'll be glad you did.anyone remember me from High School or before, I'd love to hear from you.

life before my family moved to Florida. I would have graduated from HHS in 1965. I was thinking about attending the 40th class reunion that the class is planning for next April 2005. I would like to know if anyone I know is planning on attending. Some names from the past -- Dottie Voorhees, Jeanne Luby, Callie Atwood, Sally Spaulding, Barbara Dillon, Bruce Anderson, Jim Crawford. I'll have to think some more to get other names. I went to Smiley School, John Greenleaf Whittier School and 1 year to the old high school before moving. I lived on Newark Street off of Rosedale Avenue. If any body remembers me and is planning on attending the class reunion - please let me know...I'll be there.

Nancy, I don't know where Alma Williams is , but her sister Millie was my best friend when we were growing up in Bradford. They lived on one side of a duplex and we lived on the other. Their mother was a sweetheart . Their brother Bob owned a garage on the corner of So. Kimball St. I hope we both hear from someone on here about them I would love to see Millie again .
