Comments:   I suppose I am trespassing slightly as I grew up in Groveland (across the River), but Haverhill has fond memories for me and your site brought them all back to life. Thank you for that. I graduated from Pentucket Regional in the first grad class after the first three years at HHS. That was 1959 (you do the math). Since then I have lived in Dallas, other Texas cities and spent 4 glorious years in the Colorado Rockies. Visiting the area in early September (Seabrook) and will come to town to a Kawanis meeting with my Dad...look forward to seeing Haverhill - would be happy to hear from anyone who remembers...

I am proud to say that I am a descendant of Robert Clements, and that Clara Barton & John Greenleaf Whitter are on my family tree. At one time I lived in Whittier, CA.,which was named after him! Comments:   I came to Haverhill in search of my great-grandfather's (Augustine Gagne) resting place. I've been been working on my family's genealogy, and wrote to the "Registry of Vital Records and Statistics"in Boston for Augustine's death record. They sent me a copy, and it stated that he was a resident of Haverhill for 20 years, and worked his last 6 years as a "Dyer" at a "Woolen Mill". His death record also stated that his place of burial was St. Joseph Cemetery. I found him along with my great-grandmother and two aunts. I also tried to fine his place of residence which was 98 Lafayette Square. I found 76 and 80 Lafayette, but no 98....my guess was that the building no longer stands. So can you, or the Historical Society come up with old photograghs of Lafayette Square?

Comments:   I was born at the Hale Hospital 71 years ago. My parents(Henry and Jennie Stillman) and I first lived on Columbia Park in a 2 family house with my grandparents (who were born in Russia). When I was 6 we moved to Westland Terrace. I walked to the Burnham School. The first day of school, I cried because i didn't know my way home. The nice policeman that helped us cross Kenoza Ave. pointed up the road and I could see my house. I can remember learning to skate on Plug Pond, sledding on streets of packed-down snow, and walks around Winikini Castle. I left Haverhill to go away to boarding school and life was never the same. I heard of this website from my brother, Jim, who lives in Tampa. I sure would love to see a picture of (the first house on the right)#13 Westland Terrace!!!

Comments:   I was born in Haverhill in Jan/1939, attended St Joseph's grammer school, class of "53". Attended Haverhill Trade school in 1954, 1955. Joined the Navy in Jan/57, retired after 20 years. I have some very fond memories of my hometown and growing up with my friends. I would especially like to hear from some of them. Maybe this web site will be a way that we can once again talk of old times.
I have lived in a lot of areas in Haverhill, as my Father moved a lot within the city. Some places I remember living are: River street, Lafayette street, Essex street, Hilldale Ave, Arch street, Washington Square, and Wingate ave. If any of my school friends remember me please email me, I would love to hear from you. I enjoyed the picture tour and will continue to visit this site often. Thanks a million for all the information. You ought to show a picture of "Herb's Fish market", I remember those meatless Fridays when my Mother sent me to Herb's to buy fish.
