Comments:   I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this town. Haverhill has a really wonderful school system, accepting my transfer from a vocational school in Wakefield MA, letting me graduate from there school after moving to Somerville in April and having functions like the sober-post-prom party (free). I've met with the mayor through one of the programs in the high school, (JBSG!- Hi Mr Allan!) and he was quite a humble, easy to talk to gentleman.
I have to admitt, before I moved to Haverhill in September of 99, I'd never heard of this place. I think it's nice to have a city with forests and lakes as well as a busy little downtown area. There are some really nice people in Haverhill.
But, I have just one question- what the heck is a hillie?!!

Comments:   This was very interesting. I am a decendent of Hannah Dustin/Duston and am interested in talking to any other decendents. I have some information on her decendents and will share. Comments:   Hi all. Love the site. Great seeing others I know. I graduated in 1970 from HHS. Also was partners in a Family business H.J. Fortin Supply for some 18 years also the Lighthouse, lighing showroom, Lafayette Square Hardware and had my own little craft store till we decided to close everything. Now I am semi-retired and living in sunny Florida. Sure do love the weather here no more snow for me. Miss the people up there and the fall leaves. Comments:   I think Haverhill does not have enough for kids to do. When we grew up, Haverhill was kid oriented. We had Drum Corps that kept hundreds of kids out of trouble and off the streets. They learned respect and discipline. I wish the kids had more City support and more people like the late John (Sully) Sullivan. He was a man for the kids. Thank god for his son Tom for keeping the Xmas parade and giving the kids something to look forward to, even if it is only once a year.
