Anyone out there from Walnut Square? The Walnut Square School
will be celebrating it's 100th Birthday this fall. If you lived
in the neighborhood or went to the school or had family members
that did come help us celebrate! Even if you just want to see
the changes over the last century, come on down to the birthday

The clock and bell in the tower are being renovated in honor of

and Haverhill Trade School, until my Junior year and then Mr Garvey
(the director) thought I might be better off somewhere else (anywhere
else actually). I went into the Air Force at age 17. Went back

Davis b.1600 in Acton-Turville,England . In 1640 he and 11cleared
the forest at Pentucket
an Indian village. His son John 1621-1686. Who were the other

Comments: As a direct descendant of Thomas Davis, one of the founders of Haverhill, I thoroughly enjoyed your site. There's a lot of history in the Merrimac Valley, and I think you've done a nice job of showing some of it. By the way, I spent my undergraduate college years in Lowell, just upriver. I recall how in chemistry labs, the students used to dump chemicals down the drains and say, "send it to Lawrence." Guess Haverhill got it next.

Lived in Groveland with Mom & Grandparents til 3yrs old when Dad
came home from the Army.
Then to Bradford till '66. Went to HHS, Neuman Prep & Lowell Tech
(now Univ. of Lowell).
USAF 64-68. Our family manufactured Toplifts and later Shoe Lasts,
until off-shore & Unions
distroyed the Northeast shoe industry...so I moved to NYC with
GT&E and have continued in
electronics industry/management/sales ever since....but I miss
the old days in Haverhill...Plum Island
at the Cottage....fishing....and good friends and people. Haverhill
is a town that always managed to
survive hardships...and taught its sons and daughters to be survivors
as well.....
