Houle) old stone house.
I left when I was 5 years old but went back for a couple visits
in the 50's & 60's. It has been a long time & I so enjoyed this

Comments: i think that haverhill needs more funding from the state. the schools are litteralyl FREEZING! i am a student at the C.D Hunking middle school and my principal would like to make the school week consist of only four days and make them LONGER. i do not find the point in this. he thinks that it will save the school money, but it wil really SPEND more of the money because the state law is ' all public schools must have at LEAST 180 school days in a school year.' they try to save money in all imaginable ways, he wants to do the four-long-days-in-a-school-week thing because they will 'save' money; 'less' janitors needed ( according to him) 'less'money for heating... and other stuff like that. it is really pathetic. e-mail me if you wish for me to explain it ( the rest of it) for you.

Some of my best memories were summers at the lake. Loved to go to Salsibury Beach and Hampton Beach. In the mid to late 1940's, my favorite ride, at Salisbury Beach, was the Dodgem Cars. My last visit to Lake Attitash was around 1985. My parents had a home in Plaistow, NH from 1976 to 1990. The name of my relitives were the Cormier's, Cartier's, Bouchard's. The Bouchard's lived on Blaisdell Street. Also my very good friend, Richard Samoisette lives in Kingston, NH.

I have a Navy buddy from back in the 50's from Haverhill. Ralph
Cusano. A year or so ago we spoke over the phone after nearly
40 years. Attempted to make plans to visit, just never worked
out. In 1958 I was stationed at Quonset Point, R. I.. I visited
Ralph at his parents home and his Mother baked a Birthday cake
for me.
I have spoken with his wife, Marilyn, but have not met his family.
I enjoyed Haverhill very much. I was traveling this Fall with
my brother and his wife, and my wife. We passed by Haverhill on
our trip. Sorry, I couldn't stop and see my friend. Thank you.

Comments: My grandparents, immigrating from Greece, settled in Haverhill in 1914. Members of my family have lived in Haverhill ever since; although, many have resettled on the west coast. I had the opportunity to bring my own children to Haverhill a few summers ago to see a "real" colonial American town. They had a blast visiting the cemetaries finding where thier great-great grandmother, great grandfather, and extended family members are buried, They felt connected to this wonderful city.
