Comments:   We lived in Haverhill in the up till 6 years ago. We loved the proximity of Hampton Beach, and Salisbury Beach. We meta few good people in New England and found it quiet nice in the summers to go to Newburyport or Exeter or Portsmouth, and we miss the drives and day trips we were able to frequently take while their. We have fond memories their, but Haverhill was kinda scary for us coming from WV where it's laid back and safer. We miss the shopping outlets from Kittery, Methuen Mall, junk shops in Haverhill and Shaws. I amaze people here when I tell them the Archie comics originated from Haverhill and the school was in fact, Haverill High that the kids attended. If you know us write us and we'll get back to you.

Comments:   I enjoyed the site. I am a descendant of some of the early settlers, hence, the interest. I had hoped to find a bit more on them - possibly links to Haverhill genealogy. I would have liked more mention given to Mary Neff (one of my ancestors) in the heroic feats. Hannah did not kill all the Indians and take all their scalps. She was assisted by Mary Neff and a young boy. They get credit on your Memorial Plaque but not mention is made in your write-up. I suspect Hannah Duston being a more prominent citizen might explain it. However, Mary Neff and her husband William were also citizens of Haverhill. Her father, George Corliss was an early immigrant settler there and Mary was born and died there. I also descend from Thomas Davis, another early settler.

I attended Winter Street School in the 1930's and early 1940's. I lived at 23 Maple St. which is now Mayberry St. After a while we moved to 23 Lewis St. which I left for California in 1950. Comments:   A return visit. The Website keeps getting better. Born at Hale Hospital in 11/37 and attended Bartlett and Tilton schools in the mid-40's. Nice to be back. Can recall destruction of Tilton Tower to make way for the new WHAV radio tower, going to the movies at the Lafayett, Colonial, Strand and the Pramount, watching the Christmas parades on I think Water Street (downtown anyway). Although my family moved to California in 1948, I have always had fond memories of these things and of course much more of Haverhill.

I have visited Haverhill alot since i left in '82, but alot of friends kind of drifted into the woodwork, nice to have something to come back to. Comments:   My name is Marty Collins and I grew up in Haverhill (one of eight kids in the Collins Family so our tribe has a lot of friends in Haverhill and vicinity). Smiley School, JG Whittier, Tilton - we attended all of'em. My father was the postman Marty Collins - he knew just about everyone in town duing his heyday. "Zabby" Zarbolias and family were related to us. I graduated (barely) from Haverhill High in the infamous class of 1964 when the new high school was most new. Graduated from UMASS Amherst in 1968 and have been in the U.S. Navy ever since (31 years with my enlisted time). I'm retiring as a Captain in Jul 2000 - if we survive 1 Jan 2000!! Curently in Los Angeles, CA doing something I'm not quite sure of . Been all over the world since the roaring 60's - and occasionally into space, it seems. Comments:   What a kick to see the photos - well done, whoever put this together - I lived in Bradford until 1958, went to Haverhill High when it was at the top of the hill and freshmen were housed in the "annex" across the street (now City Hall)and also worked (at TCA) in the early 90's, so had a chance to look around a bit... My 7th great-grandfather Robert Hastings arrived in Haverhill in 1673, built his home which was still standing in 1991, in Rocks Village and married Elizabeth Davis dau of James Davis and Elizabeth Eaton. I am still trying to find Roberts place of birth in England.

Comments:   Hello to all my friends and family up in that beautiful part of the world. We're going through some pretty bad storms this evening here in the valley of the sun. In a month or so the temperature may drop below 100. Ahhhh it's been a long summer, but I found a new hangout. Phoenix now has 5 ice rinks with a total of 8 sheets of ice. I'll be watching those Coyotes but the Bruins hat STAYS ON!
